Connecticut State Police Announce State Police Trooper Trainee Examination

The Connecticut State Police announce that the State Police Trooper Trainee exam application period is now open. The application for the exam will be available starting until Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. (EST). All are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must apply through the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services (DAS) website http://das.ct.gov

Everyone, especially those interested in becoming a trooper, is encouraged to visit the Connecticut State Police website for information on the hiring process www.ct.gov/despp and “like” and follow the new Connecticut State Police Recruitment and Selections Facebook page here to have all requirement and hiring process questions answered.

For those that are signed up or signing up for the exam, interested in becoming a Connecticut State Trooper, or just curious about the day in the life of a trooper, the Connecticut State Police will be hosting a Tweet along Thursday March 30, 2017 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., allowing followers to virtually ride along with troopers from Troop A-Southbury via Twitter. On Aril 8, 2017 the Connecticut State Police will host a “Coffee with a Trooper” meet and greet recruitment/informational from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Connecticut Police Academy, 285 Preston Ave., Meriden, CT.

Coffee with a Trooper is open to ALL, including those already signed up for the exam, those thinking about signing up for the exam, those interested in becoming a Connecticut State, future candidates (those who don’t make the age requirement, aren’t ready to apply, still in high school, etc.), and those that just want to come out and talk with a trooper.

This will be an informal meet & greet for everyone to learn more, and ask questions about, the hiring process, physical agility, academy life and life as a trooper.
