Silvermine Arts Center Fundraiser Featuring Celebrity Chefs was a True Foodie Experience

The annual spring benefit for the Silvermine Arts Center was an evening of culinary magic. "The Silvermine Palette –A Foodie Fundraiser," which was held on Saturday, June 1 at the Clarke Kitchen Showroom in SoNo, featured four celebrity chefs, who provided guests with a variety of dishes to sample as they demonstrated their culinary skills. There were only raves about the event, with everyone commenting on how great the venue was, as well as the food, music and company!

This culinary adventure of international cuisine featured signature dishes of each of the participating chefs, from appetizers, to main courses, and of course desserts. The chefs included: Pietro Scotti of DaPietro's Restaurant in Westport, Kender Urena of Bistro Bonne Nuit in New Canaan, Elizabeth King of Kings' Carriage House in New York City, and Jonathan Mathias of a dash of salt in Norwalk. Music was provided by Francois Wiss, and there was an exciting silent auction featuring a vast array of items for guests to bid on.

This was truly a special evening for Silvermine as the event brought together guild artists, staff, patrons, and collectors. Proceeds from the fundraiser will help support the outreach program, Art Partners (now in its 21st year), scholarships, a robust calendar of award-winning gallery exhibitions, as well as special events, lectures and performances. The benefit brought in over $41,000, thanks to the generous support of so many individuals, sponsors (Charkit Chemical and Pierson & Smith), and the donations received.

The committee for "The Silvermine Palette – Foodie Fundraiser," was led by Meredith Hutchison from Westport, Marcia Harris of Norwalk and Shari Jones of Easton.
