David Emberling Studio Helps Feed Homeless Pets with Pet Portrait Contest

David Emberling Studio is hosting its first Pet Portrait Contest. The contest generates bags of dog and cat food for the Connecticut Humane Society. The need is greater than ever this year as the local pet shelters see an increase in dog and cat intakes. In the face of the current economy some families are having to make a choice between feeding the family, or the family pet.

It’s easy to enter the contest—call the studio to set up an appointment to have your pet photographed. The contest entry fee is 10 pounds of Cat or Dog Food. There are no additional session fees. All entries must be photographed by David Emberling Studio for the contest. The Connecticut Humane Society will receive all of the donated food.

The contest is open to all domestic animals that can be photographed in studio, and is judged for a variety of categories :  Most Creative, Funniest, Cutest and other various categories. The top 12 winners will be featured in a calendar, to be distributed by the Humane Society.

The Contest is co-sponsored by area pet related businesses, such as: Earth Animal, Puppies of Westport. South Wilton Veterinary, Pet Pantry Wilton, Natural Pet Outlet, Best Friends Pet Care, Southport Veterinary Center, Cannondale Animal Clinic, and Paw Radise Grooming, Wilton.

There will be prizes for the winners, given by the sponsors. Additional businesses are being added to the list of sponsors. The Grand Prize winner will be featured on the cover of the calendar, and the owner will receive a Family Portrait Session and a framed wall portrait for a special portrait with the pet and his family.

Call the studio to set up a pet’s appointment or for more information. Appointments are being scheduled February 14-28, 2015. A special price list will be available for those who wish to purchase portraits of their beloved pets.

David Emberling Studio is located at 103 Weston Road, Weston CT 06883. Phone 203-226-1836 for more information or an appointment.
