Register for the Annual Celebrating Hope Gala Benefiting the Alzheimer's Association of Connecticut

On Friday, May 5, Hill Harper will share his personal journey and inspiration during Celebrating Hope 2017. Through his work on the President’s Cancer Panel, he has witnessed the impact that research can have on a disease. “Research has led to the development of diverse interventions to reduce the risk of cancer and more effectively treat some cancers, enabling many individuals to survive diagnoses that previously were almost universally fatal,” offers Harper. “I am hopeful that increased research dedicated to Alzheimer’s disease will produce a similar outcome and that we can find a cure in the near future,” he adds. More than five million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer’s and the disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the U.S.

Celebrating Hope 2017 will be held from 6:30 to 11:00pm on Friday, May 5 at l’escale at the Delamar Greenwich Harbor and proceeds will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter. In its milestone fifth year, the Association is thrilled to report that since its inception, Celebrating Hope has raised over $1 million for Alzheimer’s and dementia care and research. Event tickets ($350 each) are available for purchase online or via phone at (860) 828.2828. The benefit will unfold throughout the Mediterranean–inspired Delamar Greenwich Harbor named to Travel & Leisure’s Top 500 Hotels in the World. The evening will include cocktails on the waterfront terrace, dinner in a lounge setting featuring a special menu created by l’escale Restaurant’s Executive Chef Frédéric Kieffer and entertainment by The What Up Funk Band’s 7-piece ensemble. Guests will enjoy multiple opportunities to bid on unique experiences and luxury items featured in the extensive silent and live auctions and are encouraged to wear the Alzheimer’s signature color purple to the event.
