Movie Screening - Trashed at Earthplace

The movie "Trashed," which is being screened at Earthplace on Wednesday, July 30 at 6:30 p.m., looks at the extent and effects of the global waste problem. Jeremy Irons explores beautiful destinations tainted by pollution and an entire city that is now virtually waste-free. This meticulous and brave investigative journey will take you from skepticism to sorrow and from horror to hope. Tickets are $7 in advance, $9 at the door, and seating is limited. Guests will be treated to a reception beginning at 6:30, courtesy of Whole Foods and Organic Vintages. The screening begins at 7:00 p.m. and is followed by Q&A withDiane Duva, Assistant Director of Waste Engineering and Enforcement at the CT DEEP (Department of Energy and Environmental Protection); Dr. Barbara Reck, from Yale's Industrial Ecology Department; and Steve Edwards, Director of Westport's Public Works Department.

The screening is hosted in partnership with Westport Green Task Force.
