Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum’s Seventh Annual Old Fashioned Flea Market, Sept. 21

For anyone who loves to hunt for treasures, repurposed furniture, decorative accessories, and curiosities of all kinds, the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum's Old Fashioned Flea Market is the place to be on Sunday, September 21, 2014, 10-5 p.m. The event, chaired by LMMM Trustee Lynne Byington, takes place at Mathews Park, 295 West Avenue in Norwalk, CT.

"Whether you enjoy bargains, face-painting, or a stroll down memory lane, this is such an enjoyable event as it offers something to everyone," said Ms. Byington. "I am thrilled to chair this event and introduce this magnificent National Historic Landmark to a great number of our Norwalk visitors." More than 80 vendors will offer a variety of items from new, to used, to vintage, including antiques, furniture, collectibles, jewelry, household items, clothing, and toys.

Shoppers will be able to view a classic and antique car show, listen to swing and jazz music while enjoying the best all-American barbecue in Connecticut, courtesy of Stew Leonard's and Michael Gilmartin's Outdoor Cookers Catering & Event Planning. The popular Bob Button Big Band will perform from 12-1 p.m. while students from The Pop Music Academy, (Stamford, CT), will delight the audience with contemporary music at 2:30-3:30 p.m. The Museum will be open for mini-tours 12-4 p.m.. Visitors will be invited to walk throughout the Museum's period rooms on the first floor and view an iconic Victorian era mansion for only $5. Proceeds will benefit the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum. The Museum has donated several booths to area nonprofits who will share their message and mission with attendees.

Vendor spaces are 10x16 feet and cost $65 for the day. The deadline is September 15. No rain date will be scheduled.
