Alison and Ron Malloy to tell the Startup Success Story of Design2Launch at the Stamford Innovation Center in October

On Thursday, Oct. 2, the Stamford Innovation Center is celebrating the story of Alison and Ron Malloy, the brother/sister team whose Design2Launch software company was hatched in Stamford and sold to Kodak for $23 Million in 2008.

The Malloy’s started the company in 2000.  By working closely with a handful of key customers, they ended up creating a new category of software that is now called “enterprise packaging workflow.” Their Brand Manager platform is used by marketing and creative teams in industries including pharmaceutical, food and beverage, automotive and consumer packaged goods companies to create a link between great design and critical data (ingredients, trademark, warnings) to help produce product labels that are both accurate and attractive.

Early in its evolution, Design2Launch moved to Bank Street, just across the street from the Stamford Innovation Center’s location in the Old Town Hall.  As a vibrant part of the future of Kodak, the company continues to operate from in the same state-of-the-art downtown offices. Josh Fedeli, who now runs sales and accounts for Design2Launch will participate in the October discussion.

“For entrepreneurs, stories of the early, crazy days of a successful startup can be hugely inspirational,” said SIC’s Chief Marketing Officer Peter Propp.   “We love to focus on the tough decisions and then the moment when the leaders of the company knew they were going to survive.  These stories provide critical food for thought for our community and I know Ron and Alison have some great stories to share.
