Season Tickets Now on Sale for Play With Your Food 2015 Theater Series Combining Lunch, Play Readings, and Conversation

JIB Productions announces that season tickets are now on sale for the 2015 season of Play With Your Food, Fairfield County’s innovative mid-day theater series combining a buffet lunch with short play readings and discussion with actors in Westport, Fairfield, and Greenwich venues.

“Comedy rules this season,” said Artistic Director Carole Schweid. Play readings will include, among others, a selection from “Small World,” the new Fred Stroppel play en route to Broadway, starring Scott Bryce as the irrepressible Walt Disney; Paul Rudnick’s “My Husband,” andRosemary Foley’s hilarious domestic comedy, “Leaving Her.

“There will be some steamer selections as well,” Schweid added, including “Mexico City,” by Hannah Moscovitch, which Schweid describes as “a tale about the trials and unexpected revelations of traveling with your spouse – hidden in the back streets of exotic places.” Kitt Lavoie “Bank & Trust” will bring the financial crisis all too close to home.

Westport productions will be held at Toquet Hall (58 Post Rd. E) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, Jan. 13 – 15, Feb. 3 – 5, March 3 – 5 and March 31, April 1 and 2.

In Fairfield, productions will take place at Fairfield Theater Company (70 Sanford St.) on Tuesdays, Jan. 20, Feb. 10, March 10, and April 7.

Greenwich productions will be held at The Greenwich Arts Council (299 Greenwich Ave.) on Wednesdays and Thursdays, Feb. 11 and 12, March 11 and 12, and April 8 and 9.

“Matching expert writing with first-rate actors to bring these small gems to life is a wonderful process,” Schweid said. “We have a lot of fun, and that energy rubs off on the audience. It’s a blast.”

Programs run from 12 – 1:30 p.m. beginning with a buffet lunch and conversation, followed by play readings and discussion with the artists.

“Neighborhood favorites DaPietro’s, The Granola Bar, and Blue Lemon will provide lunch at the Westport productions,” said Managing Director Inge Maki. To date, The Pantry and Spic & Span will provide catering in Fairfield and Garelick & Herbs in Greenwich.

Ticket cost is $45. Season tickets sell out quickly. Please purchase early to ensure choice of dates.
