New Improv Workshops at Theater Barn

The Theater Barn is very happy to announce a three new Improv classes, taught by the coach and Director of the Role in the Hay Players, Rick Hodder.  With something for everyone, there will be a class for Adults (18 and older), one for Teens, and one for Kids (grades 6-8).

Rick Hodder has trained with the Upright Citizens Brigade and Gotham City Improv in NYC, and recently directed one of the highest grossing shows at the Theater Barn, Godspell.  If you like the show Whose Line is it Anyway? then this popular Improv workshop is right up your alley.  Improv helps you learn how to think on your feet, fosters teamwork, and helps with public speaking and assertiveness.  But most of all, it’s fun!

Beginning Wednesday April 22nd, the adult workshop will meet Wednesday evenings from 7:30-9:30and run for 8 weeks through June 17th (no class June 3rd).  The Teen and Kids’ workshops will begin May 16th and meet Saturdays from 9am-11am (Kids grades 6-8), and 11am-1pm (Teens) for 6 weeks through June 20th.  All workshops will culminate with a performance for friends and family.

The classes will be held at the Ridgefield Theater Barn, 37 Halpin Lane. All experience levels are welcome and early registration is strongly recommended, as seating is limited to 14 students.  The 8-week adult workshop is $320 for donors, $340 for non-donors, and the teen and kids’ 6-week workshop is $240 for donors and $260 for non-donors.  Register online at ridgefieldtheaterbarn.org.
