Learn about local mushrooms and fungal ecology with this fun, hands-on workshop at Greenwich Land Trust, 370 Round Hill Road, on Wednesday, December 14 from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. Conservation & Outreach Director, Steve Conaway, PhD, will instruct participants on how to inoculate logs with oyster and shiitake mushroom spawn. Participants can bring home their logs for a mushroom harvest the following fall. This is a great opportunity to learn a fun and easy way to cultivate mushrooms, appropriate for both young families and adults. The cost of this workshop is $25 per family, which includes two inoculated logs to take home. Wear warm clothes as the workshop is in an unheated barn. All tools and materials will be provided.
