Presentation for Parents on Building Children’s Coping Skills

Give Your Child the Gift of Coping Skills!

A presentation by Leslie Cohen-Rubury, LCSW

On Tuesday, February 21st at 7:30 pm, Leslie Cohen-Rubury, LCSW, will give a presentation on “The Gift of Coping Skills: Helping to Build Your Child’s Resiliency (and Restore Your Sanity)”  The event, which is free of charge and open to all, will take place at Temple B’nai Chaim in Georgetown.

We all know our children need coping skills when they don't get what they want. This includes anything from not making a team, not getting a good grade, not being invited to a party, not getting to go to a friend’s house, to having to deal with limits on their screen time and technology usage.  This interactive presentation will use your real-life everyday situations in which coping is NEEDED.  You will leave with practical suggestions, skills and possibly a new perspective.

Leslie Cohen-Rubury is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who also has a Masters in Special Education.  She has 35 years experience working with families and children in school and community settings.  She also has a private practice in Redding, Ct. providing individual, family, and marital therapy.
