Coming to New Canaan Library: An Interactive Children's Book Event with Local Author Gigi Priebe, Introducing The Adventures of Henry Whiskers

New Canaan Library is pleased to host a fun, hands-on book launch event with New Canaan author and Stepping Stones Museum founder Gigi Priebe, Sunday, March 5 from 2 - 3 p.m.   Her debut children's book,   has just been released and the Library welcomes the opportunity to introduce this fast-paced, humorous  tale to young readers and their families.  In addition to a short reading by the author, the afternoon will include craft activities and special treats.  Copies of the book will be available for purchase, courtesy of Elm Street Books. This is a drop in event, suitable for families with children ages 5 and up.

The Adventures of Henry Whiskers takes a page from history, with the setting of this rollicking tale in Windsor Castle’s most famous exhibit: Queen Mary’s Dollhouse. For young, book-loving Henry Whiskers and his family, this is the perfect place to call home.  But when the dollhouse undergoes unexpected repairs and Henry’s youngest sister, Isabel, goes missing, he digs deep to find his courage and risks everything in a whisker-whipping race against time to save her. The Adventures of Henry Whiskers is the first in the series; the second book will be published later this year.

Young readers are invited to attend a special meeting of Book Explorers on March 23 at 4:15 p.m., when author Gigi Priebe returns and joins Librarian Audrey Heneage in a book discussion for  readers in grades 2 and 3. Please register for this special Book Explorers meeting by phone, 203-594-5002.

Gigi Priebe is the mother of three, the founder of Stepping Stones, an award-winning children’s museum in Norwalk, CT and the author of The Adventures of Henry Whiskers, the first in her middle grade series. When she is not writing - or rewriting - she is a philanthropic advisor and community volunteer in Fairfield County, Connecticut where she lives with her husband, a cat named Tigger, a dog named Clover, and probably some mice.
