This Thursday, March 16th, the award-winning feature film, No Letting Go, will be presented free of charge at 6:15 p.m. at the Ferguson Library (Third Floor Auditorium, One Public Library Plaza in Stamford.
This poignant film honestly depicts the potentially devastating impacts of mental health disorders which affect 1 in 5 adults and 1 in 5 youth aged 13–18 (21.4%) in the United States every year. Randi Silverman, the film’s co-producer and co-writer will lead a Q&A session after the screening.
No Letting Go is a compelling drama based on Ms. Silverman’s family journey to understand and cope with the erratic behavior and emotional instability of their middle son, Tim. Ms. Silverman’s family’s world starts to unravel as they discover that their son’s increasing fragility is due to mental illness. His family must play an integral role in finding the help he needs, but will it be too late? Will love, strength, and courage prevail to reveal the resiliency of the human spirit?
At past screenings in Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Wilton, and Westport, family members, clinicians, educators and others shared with each other and Ms. Silverman on coping strategies and finding appropriate resources.
