Parenting Practices: 7 Skills All Students Need in the New Academic Year at Pequot Library

Parents of approaching middle or high school students are invited to Pequot Library for this free seminar, "7 Skills All Students Need in the New Academic Year." It is designed to help give families tactics to successfully transition their student to the next grade. During this informative and highly interactive workshop, parents will learn seven evidence-based techniques to help their student stay focused, complete homework with purpose and crispness, achieve higher confidence, and get better results.

Michelle Sagalyn, president of S4 Study Skills, will help attendees learn the answer to these questions and more:

• What are the 7 skills all students need to be successful in school?

• How should they prepare for tests?

• How can your student eliminate distractions when they study?

• How can your student avoid feeling overwhelmed?

• Should your student study for a subject all in one shot, or over time?

• What can you do as a parent support your student?

The workshop is free, but registration is requested.
