Kids learn fine art techniques from a celebrated and experienced NYC teaching artist from the Met's "Doing Art Together." Students learn to observe and create using a variety of materials. Featured once again this summer: Rute Ventura!
This week covers Impressionism, Expressionism, Art Nouveau, Harlem Renaissance and Abstraction.

Afternoon session: 1pm-4pm
Explore Monet, Seurat, Gauguin, Picasso, Frida Kahlo, Jacob Laurence, Dali, Cezanne, O'Keefe
Workshop led by:
Rute Ventura, Portuguese multi-media artist whose artwork ranges from drawing, to painting, sculpture, video and installation. She has studied extensively in Italy, learning Trompe L’oeil techniques at the Accademia del Superfuluo in Rome. She moved to New York City in 2009 where she works as a teaching artist with the non-profit Doing Art Together, providing art workshops for under-served crowds in NY City Public Schools. She collaborates with The City College of New York incorporating STEM through STEAM-- Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. (Instructor for ages 6 - 8)
