Build A Better World Summer Reading Program at Pequot Library

For pre-readers through readers entering 12th grade. Reading is even more fun for children and teens this summer! This year’s summer reading theme, Build A Better World, encourages youth to build a stronger community through acts of service and charitable work, both locally and globally. Exciting, thought-provoking weekly challenges have been created around community service and small acts of kindness. Check Pequot Library’s website each week to find the Build A Better World Weekly Challenge!

In addition, participants in the Summer Reading Program will be given a free reading log which stays in the Library, and is updated when they visit. Readers receive a sticker for every five hours read. Pre-readers may have their books read to them! Kids will also create an outdoor community sculpture that grows as they read. The last week of August, everyone will hand in their reading logs at the “Library Store,” where they will pick up their prizes. For more information contact the Children's Library at (203) 259-0346 ext. 16.
