Visits with Santa and Membership Special at Stepping Stones!

Instead of a shiny toy that will quickly lose its luster, parents can wrap up a year of amazing explorations with a membership to Stepping Stones Museum for Children. From engaging exhibits to daily classes and performances, there is always something new to discover at the award-winning, wonder-filled place created just for kids.

“The material aspect of the holiday season can be overwhelming, especially for young children,” said Rhonda Kiest, President and CEO of Stepping Stones. “Parents should consider giving gifts of experiences that little ones can look forward to throughout the year.”

But since kids can’t cuddle up with a paper pass, the museum is offering a limited-edition Stepping Stones fleece blanket FREE with the purchase or renewal of a Family Plus membership while supplies last. Got two kids? Collect two blankets with a two-year Family Plus membership or above! Memberships start at only $165 and include perks ranging from free events to discounted admission at over 100 children’s museums worldwide.

Children can surprise their grandparents with the museum’s unique Grandparent membership that provides admission for two grandparents and all of their grandchildren for only $130 for the year. Donations can also be made to the nonprofit organization as a gift in a recipient’s honor. As an added bonus, a membership is a donation that is partially tax deductible.

Kiest notes that a family membership actually pays for itself in as little as three visits. Both educators and Norwalk residents receive 10% off any membership. However, she strongly encourages families from across the state to become members. “A road trip adds to the sense of excitement by also making it an adventure to another town.” Additionally, the museum is a true destination for children of all abilities and hosts family Accessibility programs each month.

One of the upcoming special events is stress-free Santa visits! Stepping Stones knows it's often a scary experience for young children to sit on Santa's lap. By visiting Kris Kringle in a place just for kids that is fun, safe and accessible, it can be an enjoyable time for the entire family. Children can play, make festive crafts, and enjoy activities while waiting to meet Santa & his friends Frosty the Snowman, Penguin and Reindeer. Bring your camera to take FREE treasured photos of your smiling child with Santa on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays starting on Dec 1 through Dec. 17, and  then each day from Tues. Dec. 19  to  Sun. Dec. 24 from 11:15am – 12:15pm . Regular museum admission applies.

“Spending time together as a family really is the most precious gift. It creates meaningful memories that can only come from shared experiences,” concludes Kiest.
