Western Connecticut Health Network Offers Health and Wellness Programs and Basic EMT Course

Western Connecticut Health Network (WCHN) will present “Oh, My Aching Shoulder,” a free health and wellness program on Tuesday, January 16, in the Activity Center at the Riverbrook Regional YMCA, 404 Danbury Road in Wilton.  The program will be held from 7 to 8 pm, featuring Paul Protomastro, MD, an orthopedic surgeon with sub-specialty training and expertise in surgery of the upper extremity. WCHN Emergency Medical Services will offer a Basic Emergency Medical Technician Course (EMT) at Danbury Hospital from Monday, January 29 through Wednesday, May 10, 2018. The three-month course meets every Monday and Wednesday during the evening from 6 am to 10 pm and Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm. 

Upon completion of the Basic EMT Course, participants will be qualified to take the National Registry exams to receive their Connecticut and National EMT-B certification.

Fee for the three month course is $895.00 and includes both course and work book materials. Payment must be submitted in full before the start of the program.  All students will be subject to a criminal background check before classes begin. On Tuesday, January 30, WCHN presents “Oh, My Aching Back,” a free health and wellness program that takes place from 7 to 8 pm in the Activity Center at the Riverbrook Regional YMCA, 404 Danbury Road in Wilton. Featured speaker will be WCHN neurosurgeon Joshua Marcus, MD who specializes in minimally invasive brain and spine surgery and cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery. Dr. Marcus will discuss treatment options for back pain as well as physical therapy, massage, chiropractic care, and minimally invasive surgical options available at Norwalk Hospital.
