RVNA Announces New Canaan resident as “Nightingale Award” Winner

The Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association (RVNA) is pleased to announce that nurse case manager Ashley Snelwar, RN, is the winner of RVNA’s annual Nightingale Award, which recognizes excellence in nursing within the agency.  In addition to her patient case load, Snelwar manages RVNA’s Tell-Us-Your-Health program, making regular calls to at-risk patients to improve their outcomes.  Snelwar was nominated by her co-workers for this special honor.  Snelwar has been a member of the RVNA nursing staff for two and a half years.

RVNA honors one nurse each year with the Nightingale Award.  The award is presented to an RVNA RN or LPN who consistently provides the highest levels of compassionate, responsive, state of the art quality care to his or her patients.

RVNA President and CEO Theresa Santoro said, “Ashley consistently demonstrates her incredible level of knowledge, professionalism, and compassion for her patients and their families.  Her patients sing her praises, and all of us here at RVNA find her a joy to work with, too.  She cares for a wide variety of patients – from children to senior citizens – and her incredible caring shines through each day.”

Snelwar takes care of patients in lower Fairfield County, Connecticut.  She lives in New Canaan with her husband and her two children.
