Person-to-Person Receives $20,000 Oracle Grant

Oracle has awarded a $20,000 grant to Person-to-Person in support of the P2P Scholarship Program for the upcoming school year.

Oracle works to improve quality of life in the communities where it does business. The company’s philanthropy focuses on increasing opportunity, protecting the environment, advancing education and enriching community life.

As part of the Person-to-Person mission, we are dedicated to supporting a client’s journey toward self-sufficiency. The Scholarship Program helps to realize that goal by bridging the gap between what each college student earns and saves and the amount needed to attend college. Seventy-nine percent of P2P Scholars graduate college – a figure well above the national average of 20% for college students from low-income households.

P2P Executive Director Ceci Maher underscores the importance of this grant. “Thanks to the generosity of Oracle, up to 20 college students from low-income households will receive a P2P scholarship, many of whom wouldn’t be able to pursue their dream of a college education without this financial assistance.” Because the scholarships help reduce the students’ amount of debt after graduation, P2P Scholars are better positioned for future success upon graduation.

“We are very fortunate to have received this grant,” says Maher. “And we are most grateful to Oracle for their support of the important Scholarship Program.”
