Get Into Room 112

There's two very clear things that instantly tell me I'm in an exceptional bar. 1. I don't recognize some of the cocktails ingredients, and 2. The bar isn't so overcrowded that you have to shove yourself to the front to order a drink.

SoNo's newest watering hole, Room 112, has mastered these two essential bar traits, and the atmosphere has a dash of whimsy, from the local art that dots the walls, that makes me believe it could be a pop up bar.

Fortunately, for you and me, it's here to stay. And, on the refreshingly abbreviated menu, you will find creative cocktails right alongside classics, but done right. These drinks are designed to highlight the premium liquor and fruit and spice flavors in them, instead of masking cheap booze with sugar water. The 'Casa De Amor', a dragon fruit infused margarita of sorts, was perfectly balanced and my favorite of the night, and my boyfriend's classic old fashioned was the best he's had. While food isn't the center of Room 112, they do offer a menu of small plates, that are ever changing.

So, Room 112 is a place to drink, and have a small bit, but it's also a place to move, and SoNo's only great dancing spot. Upstairs, it's a nightly rotation of talented DJ's, while downstairs is more casual and relaxed.

Owner Isaac Patrick Camoro, an alum of Lolita, J House, and Red Lulu, clearly has a passion for great cocktails, a beautiful aesthetic taste, and a clear and concise vision that SoNo desperately needs.

If you see me out on a Saturday night, you will most likely find me here. Cheers!
