Young Women’s League of New Canaan Awards Grant to P2P

The Charity Research Committee of the Young Women’s League of New Canaan has awarded $2,400 to Person-to-Person for the Campership Program. In the award letter committee chair Anna Diamantis noted that the Campership Program fits well within their “Children In Need” charitable giving theme.

One of the core programs at P2P, Camperships are awarded to elementary school children who receive free or reduced-price meals during the school year. At an average cost of $600 per child, this grant will fund a full summer of day camp for four children.

The impact of this grant is significant and has important benefits. The Campership Program positively impacts the entire family. It provides the type of enrichment that translates into better academic performance for children when they return to school in the fall. And it helps to preserve the family’s financial stability because parents can continue working during the summer months.

The Young Women’s League of New Canaan members have long supported the work of Person-to-Person – by volunteering at the agency and with donations over the years – and we appreciate this latest grant award.
