Connecticut Ballet Announces Nutcracker Guest Stars

Connecticut Ballet’s holiday blockbuster and perennial audience favorite, The Nutcracker, returns to the Palace Theatre, 61 Atlantic Street, Stamford, on December 16- 17 for four performances, it was announced today by Artistic Director Brett Raphael.

Guest stars Lauren Lovette and Ask la Cour of New York City Ballet (Dec. 16) and Christine Shevchenko and Blaine Hoven of American Ballet Theatre (Dec. 17) will alternate in the roles of the Sugar Plum Fairy and Her Cavalier. American Ballet Theatre principal dancer Christine Shevchenko will be making her Connecticut Ballet debut with this engagement. Performances are as follows: Saturday, December 16 – 2:00pm & 6:00pm; Sunday, December 17 – 1:00pm & 5:00pm.

The professional company will be joined by 85 local children from a dozen local dance schools and academies. Following each performance, ticketholders may obtain autographs or take photos at a meet-and-greet opportunity with the guest artists. The festive Nutcracker Boutique in the lobby features dozens of souvenir gifts of interest to holiday shoppers.
