Dispose of Drugs Safely at the Norwalk Police Departmentu2019s Drop Box

The Norwalk Police Department announced on Facebook that they now have a prescription drug drop box that was obtained through a grant from the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators. The drop box is located in the lobby of Police Headquarters so residents can safely dispose of various drugs 24/7 without hassle.

Accepted items for the drop box are:

-Prescription medication

-Over-the-counter medication

-Narcotics and other controlled substances

-Medication samples

-Pet medication

-Vitamins and supplements

-Liquid medication in leak proof containers

-Medicated ointments and lotions

-Inhalers

Items that will not be accepted are:

-Needles, syringes, other sharp objects

-Thermometers

-IV Bags

-Bloody/infectious waste

-Hydrogen peroxide

-Business waste
