Stamford Hospital’s Mobile Wellness Center Offers Mammograms at New Canaan Library

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. To support the importance of regular screenings, New Canaan Library will host Stamford Hospital's Mobile Wellness Center, offering free or insurance covered digital mammogram screenings. The mobile wellness center will be on site at the Library on Friday, October 23, 2015 from 10 AM - 2PM. Walk-ins will be accepted, but appointments are highly recommended. Please call Stamford Hospital at 203.276.7465 (PINK) prior to the 23rd, or 203.223.4181 on the 23rd. When calling to book the appointment please have ready your physician's contact information, and your insurance information if applicable.

The Mobile Wellness Center vehicle serves Fairfield and New Haven counties six days per week, 12 months per year. It offers private, convenient, digital mammograms, with no-cost mammograms available to the uninsured and low income women. A skilled board-certified Stamford Hospital radiologist with extensive mammography experience performs and interprets exams. The Mobile Wellness Center also features a comfortable registration area, two dressing rooms, and a fully digital mammography unit. Both the patient and her doctor receive a copy of the screening results. Unfortunately the mobile center is not wheelchair accessible.

Please bring a photo ID and insurance card (if applicable) to the mammogram screening.
