Volunteer Lobby Greeters Needed at the New Center for Comfort Care & Healing in Danbury

Regional Hospice and Home Care is looking for volunteers to join our Lobby Greeter Team at our brand new Center for Comfort Care & Healing located off of exit 2 on I-84 in Danbury. The Center for Comfort Care & Healing is the first non-profit, in-patient, private-suite hospice facility in the state and will provide much needed care to more than 1,000 patients each year.

  • Are you interested in helping people?

  • Can you be sensitive to the needs of people in stressful situations?

  • Do you have an interest in healthcare and end of life care?

  • Are you dependable?

  • Can you work independently after training?

If you answered yes to all of these questions, then you might be a great candidate to join our volunteer greeter team! Our greeter volunteers sit at the front desk to welcome visitors and direct them to where they need to go in the center. Please note that you will NOT be working with patients directly in this role.

Volunteers must be able to commit to shifts regularly. Shifts that you can sign up for are: 8am- 1pm (9am-1pm on the weekends); 1-5pm; and 5-9pm, 7 days a week.

This is a great opportunity for students interested in the medical field or end of life care. Students will be able to study and do homework during downtime.

The next lobby greeter orientation is scheduled for: Friday, May 8th from 3-5pm. RSVP if interested in attending.

If you are interested, please contact: Mary Beth Hickey, Volunteer Manager at 203-702-7415 / mhickey@regionalhospicect.org or Laura Cordeira, Volunteer Coordinator at 203-702-9558 / lcordeira@regionalhospicect.org to discuss the process to apply and qualify.

Regional Hospice & Home Care’s team of experienced clinicians have been providing physical, emotional, spiritual and bereavement support to children, adults and their families through our palliative and hospice care program for the past 30 years. The new Center for Comfort Care & Healing is now open! Regional Hospice & Home Care is a non-profit, state-licensed and Medicare-certified home health care and hospice agency. Now, with the opening of our new private-room, specialty hospital for palliative and end-of-life care — the Center for Comfort Care & Healing — we can bring that same hope and compassionate care close to home and under one roof.
