Last Call for Nutmeg Festival Donations

The next and final date for dropping off items to be sold at the 109th Nutmeg Festival is this Saturday, July 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tax-deductible donations will be received behind the church at 351 Main St. A large portion of proceeds from the Nutmeg Festival, which takes place on July 25, goes to local charities.

The Nutmeg committee welcomes donations of bicycles, furniture, kitchen utensils and other household goods, as well as antiques and other treasures.

The annual Festival, one of Connecticut’s longest-running church fairs, features food, entertainment, furniture, crafts, art, a Silent Auction, Raffle, books and games for children, and a return engagement from magician/balloon artist Ben Nemzer. A Manhattan-based performer, Nemzer has appeared on Comedy Central and Nickelodeon as well as at venues across the U.S. and in many foreign countries. His diverse training has led him to ongoing stints as a magic instructor, sleight-of-hand consultant for theater and film, and annual guest lecturer at Princeton University.
