Bestselling Author Sue Miller in Conversation with Sybil Steinberg at Westport Library on May 6

The Westport Library will welcome Sue Miller, the bestselling author of of “While I Was Gone” and “The Senator’s Wife," and Publisher's Weekly contributing editor Sybil Steinberg on Wednesday, May 6. Miller iwill discuss her latest novel, “The Arsonist,” with Steinberg. The conversation begins at 7 p.m. and will be held in the Westport Library’s McManus Room. Books will be available for purchase and signing at the free and open to the public program.

Miller's novel follows a family and a community in a small New England town. Both are tested when an arsonist begins setting fire to the homes of summer residents.

Publishers Weekly says of the book, “A provocative novel about the boundaries of relationships and the tenuous alliance between locals and summer residents when a crisis is at hand ... Miller, a pro at explicating family relationships as well as the fragile underpinnings of mature romance, brilliantly explores how her characters define what ‘home’ means to them and the lengths they will go to protect it.”

Miller has written a number of bestselling novels, two of which have been made into feature films. Her book “While I Was Gone” was an Oprah Book Club pick in 2000. She teaches creative writing Smith College.

The Westport Library is located at 20 Jesup Rd. in Westport, Conn. For more information, phone (203) 291-4800, or visit westportlibrary.org.
