Cooking Class at The Garden of Ideas: Midsummer's Bounty

Ridgefield chef Susie Buckley will host another of her popular cooking classes Flavors of Fall at The Garden of Ideas in Ridgefield on Saturday, September 5 from 1-2:30pm. Through the summer Chef Buckley has  demonstrated in her classes how to make the most of a garden bounty. 

Now though is the time to look at what the fall harvest has to offer and you can be sure winter squash is among the many favored vegetables. Chef Buckley will identify and prepare several different types of squash grown organically at The Garden of Ideas. All will participate in the tastings of these versatile dishes which can either be a full meal or a delicious side. Chef Buckley will also have a sampling of various types of apples as well as their use, all from local farmers. Tasty treats plucked right from a tree! Participants will receive recipes for each dish.

These classes are for adults and children, 8 years old and older. Children need to be accompanied by an adult. The cost is $25 per adult with children between 8 and 12 free. Please note there is a maximum of 2 children per adult. Please visit TheGardenofIdeas.com to register or call 203.431.9914.

The Garden of Ideas is a non-profit garden sanctuary located 653 North Salem Road, Ridgefield CT. The gardens are open daily, 8am to dusk, to visit There is no fee to tour the grounds.
