Prosecutor of O.J. Simpson to Speak at Ladies Launch Club & Over 40 Females

Kathy McShane, CEO of Ladies Launch Club and Christine Oleynik, Fairfield County Director Of Over 40 Females are partnering for the third time with Marcia Clark as guest speaker. Ms McShane of Ladies Launch Club says, “We are thrilled to have Marcia back to talk to our communities. She epitomizes the challenges that many women face-having a high pressure job or business, raising children and being attacked for things that have nothing to do with her professional capabilities. Join them on May, 6th between 6-8pm.

Marcia Clark writes from the other side of counsel with a new series featuring an ambitious and dogged Los Angeles criminal defense attorney named Samantha Brinkmann in Blood Defense (Thomas & Mercer, May 1, 2016). In the novel, Sam is struggling to keep her fledgling private practice afloat. When she lands a high-profile double-murder case in which one of the victims is a beloved TV star—and the defendant is a decorated veteran LAPD detective-she’s certain this is the case to launch her career. Ms. Oleynick commented, “She has visited us two years in a row and each time she manages to motivate and inspire the group. It’s an honor to host her and we appreciate her making a special effort to be with us”.

The wildly popular FX series American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson, with Sarah Paulson’s critically acclaimed portrayal of the former prosecutor, has put Marcia Clark back in the news and front of mind. She recently re-released her 1997 New York Times bestselling book on the Simpson case, Without A Doubt, as an e-book. The new edition has a Forward, in which she addresses what has changed and what hasn’t since the trial, how the events of the past two decades have broadened her understanding of the verdict, of race relations, and the country’s views and attitudes about domestic violence and how celebrity and media attention continues to impact criminal cases.
