Modern West, the rock and Americana country band fronted by Academy Award winning actor, Kevin Costner, returns to the Playhouse. Best known for his roles in movies such as Bull Durham, Field of Dreams, Dances with Wolves and Body Guard, Costner has turned to the live music scene. The band released its first country album, Untold Truths in 2008 on Universal South Records. It peaked at No. 35 on the Top Heatseekers chart. Their 2012 record “Famous for Killing Each Other” featuring music from the television miniseries produced by the History Channel (including 8 compositions written by Costner) reached No. 6 on the soundtrack chart and broke into the top 20 of both the country and indie album charts — all career highs for the band.
