The Taste of Chowdafest: Brought to you by HamletHub

We're gearing up for the CHOWDA! And, how do we do that? We feature some of this year's Chowdafest participants in our feature: The Taste of Chowdafest.

Meet Sign of the Whale and Sam's American Bistro - both from Stamford, these two eateries will be competing in Chowdafest on Sunday, October 2 at Sherwood Island State Park.

The Taste of Chowdafest also includes a :20 to :30 second video made by each restaurant. View Sam's American Bistro video here.  View Sign of the Whale video here.

About Sam's American Bistro:

Sam's American Bistro is tucked away in the Stamford Marriott Hotel and Spa. Chowdafest founder Jim Keenan says, "Chef Troy is making a name for himself by entering a spiced chocolate bisque. The only thing exceeding his culinary creativity is the video he made. We'd like to give him an Oscar just for taking "Happy" the Chowdafest spokes-clam and making him wink."

About Sign of the Whale:

Meet rookie Sign of the Whale. Chowdafest founder Jim Keenan says, "We think they have a truly classic New England clam chowder that will stand up to the award winning chowders already in this category."

And, earlier this week, we featured another Stamford eatery competing in this year's Chowdafest competition: The Crab Shell. Read about them and watch their video here.

Learn more about this friendly and delicious competition that feeds the hungry (yes, they donate proceeds to Community Plates) here.
