Redding Social Event of the Season: the Mark Twain Library Art Show

Bidders had a change to win a trip to Sotheby's in the Silent auction

What's Black and White and Redding all over?
The 39th Annual Mark Twain Library Art show of course!

On Friday, December 2, Redding's glitterati attended the Champagne Preview Gala kicking off this years art show. Those who attended got to kick-off the Art Show itself -- with a silent auction, had first dibs on a favorite piece of art before regular library hours, and jump-started their holiday season, all with friends and neighbors in a festive, elegant setting.

This year, Redding residents Reed and Mark Collyer, of Collyer Catering in Westport worked with the theme to prepare a delicious array of hors d’oeuvres and Stephen Alward, executive chef at BJ Ryans in Norwalk supplemented the fare with a fabulous assortment of cheese and olives. Mitch Ancona of Ancona’s Wine and Liquors selectied the wine and champagne, which flowed generously And Confetti and Events of Georgetown, were inspired by the black & white theme as they planned the finishing touches to the Gala.

For the next nine days, the Mark Twain Library is transformed into a place of visual delight; a gallery of beautiful art for everyone to enjoy who comes in to the Library. The Art Show is also one of the Library’s annual fundraisers, and offers wonderful, collectible art at affordable prices.

The art show runs until December 11. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to view and purchase art created by Reddingites and artists from the surrounding communities.
