RVNA Presents Zika Awareness: What You Need to Know on May 18

Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association (RVNA) is holding an education event on the topic of the Zika virus just in time for the summer travel season.  “Zika Awareness: What You Need to Know” will be held on Thursday, May 18th from 6:30 – 7:30 pm at the RVNA office, 27 Governor Street in downtown Ridgefield. April Rodriquez, RN, RVNA Community Health & Wellness Nurse, will be the speaker. Attendees will learn all about this mosquito-borne illness, such as who is at risk, how it is transmitted, the symptoms, and precautions that may help a person avoid contracting it. This event is free and open to the public. About The Speaker

April Rodriguez, RN received a BA from the University of Connecticut and an ADN from Norwalk Community College.  Her background includes working in dermatology, general surgery, and long-term care. She is currently Community Health & Wellness RN at RVNA.
