Public Astronomy Program at New Pond Farm on Novmeber 18

Fall constellations and Andromeda Galaxy

The Discovery Center at Ridgefield with New Pond Farm Observatory, 101 Marchant Rd., West Redding, is offering a public astronomy program on Saturday, November 18 starting at 7:00 PM. For those interested, there will be a discussion of objects to be viewed in the classroom building at 6:30 PM. With the telescopes, we will view the Andromeda Galaxy, star clusters, nebulae and the planet Uranus.   We will point out and the fall constellations and hope to catch some “shooting stars” from the Leonid meteor shower.

Dress warmly and please bring a flashlight for the walk to the observatory.  There is a warming building next to the telescopes. The program is $4 for Discovery Center members, with a maximum of $16 per family. For nonmembers, the charge is $6 and a maximum $24 per family.
