The Keeler Tavern Museum and Ridgefield League of Women Voters are co-sponsoring the showing of the 1995 documentary, One Woman, One Vote, narrated by Susan Sarandon, on Thursday, September 18, at 7 p.m., in the Museum’s Garden House. The film compellingly describes the 72-year fight for women’s right to vote, culminating in passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in 1920.
After the 108-minute film, which is part of the Museum’s 2014 focus on Strong Women, Strong Legacies, attendees will participate in a discussion and enjoy light refreshments.
The Keeler Tavern Museum, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, presents three centuries of the town’s history through the lives of the families that occupied the site starting in 1713. Operating with no government funding, it offers docent-led tours of its period-furnished building February through December. Its Cass Gilbert-designed garden is open to the public year ‘round, except during private events. More information may be found at www.keelertavernmuseum.org.
