HamletHub Adds Norfolk & Canaan as Latest Towns in Its Roster of Hyperlocal News Sites

HamletHub.com, a pioneering network of "hyperlocal" websites providing locally originated news and information, has launched its newest site, to cover the Norfolk and Canaan areas, the company announced today. With a full roster of sites covering most of Fairfield County in Connecticut, and Westchester County in New York, the Norfolk/Canaan HamletHub is the very first to cover a Northwest Connecticut corner town. HamletHub.com is proud to announce that Norfolk resident, Colleen Gundlach, has agreed to become the Norfolk/Canaan editor.

"We are thrilled to welcome our neighbors in the beautiful Northwest Corner to HamletHub," says Kerry Anne Ducey, founder of HamletHub. "There are so many great people and businesses in the Norfolk and Canaan area who will welcome this opportunity to have a new forum where they will be able to share neighborhood news, stories, ideas, events and best business practices. Colleen will help make this happen." Ducey adds.

HamletHub launched the first local news "Hub" in Ridgefield in 2009 with a mission to "make the world better, one Hub at a time," and won a prestigious Connecticut Press Club Award in 2012, 2013, and took home 6 awards in 2014 including Best Website.

Hamlethub sites differ from other media outlets based on their focus on the needs of the community — its residents as well as the organizations and businesses that make up the fabric of the town. The Norfolk/Canaan HamletHub offers a unique opportunity for these groups to have a voice in their community, either by submitting articles to the site as a local resident, or by participating in the site's unique Article Membership service for businesses, giving them an unprecedented opportunity to tell their story and to differentiate themselves in the marketplace.

Gundlach has been a strong member of the Norfolk community for the past 35 years, where she has served as a member of both the Norfolk Board of Education and of the Northwestern Regional #7 board. As a freelance correspondent many years ago for the Winsted Evening Citizen (now Register Citizen), she was responsible for coverage of Norfolk Town Hall news. Gundlach is currently one of four Executive Editors of Norfolk Now, the town's highly respected monthly newspaper. "I am excited about this opportunity to add another, different, layer of communication available to the people of Norfolk and Canaan," she says.

Norfolk/Canaan HamletHub is delivered to the email inboxes of readers each evening. To subscribe, go to news.hamlethub.com/norfolkcanaan. For more information, please contact Colleen Gundlach, Editor, at colleeng@hamlethub.com or 203-431-6400, ext. 7245.
