Gloria Rose (LaPlaca) Centopani, age 84, of Redding, CT, formerly Trumbull, CT, died Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the widow of Nicholas Joseph Centopani.
She was born in Hartford, CT, November 2, 1930, daughter of the late Salvatore and Rose (Siracusa) LaPlaca.
A loving mother and grandmother, Gloria is survived by her daughter: Nancy C. Rosa and her husband Robert of Redding; granddaughters: Alissa and Cassandra Rosa of Redding; 3 sisters: Loretta Fehr of Simsbury, CT, Yolanda Demeree of Scottsdale, AZ, Bette Martinelli of Bridgeport, CT, sisters-in-law: Josephine Covino and MaryJane Martucci, both of Bridgeport, Julia LaPlaca of Stratford, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother: Gandolfo LaPlaca, sister: Peggy LaPlaca and sister-in-law: Rose Iannarone formerly of Bridgeport .
