Celebration of Life on Sunday for Nicholas DiNapoli, Jr,, President of DiNapoli Development Company

Nicholas R. DiNapoli, Jr., 88, of Norwalk, CT and Delray Beach, FL passed away peacefully on November 24, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Angela, daughter Wendy, her husband Matthew Lecher of Redding, CT, son Shawn Gersman of Boca Raton, FL and granddaughters Alexandra and Peyton. He was predeceased by his son Richard and his first wife Mirtha.
 
Nick grew up in Bridgeport, CT. and later attended Valley Forge Military Academy in Wayne, PA. He was a veteran and served for 10 years with the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division. He attained the rank of Captain and was credited with 53 jumps with the 82nd Airborne.
 
After completing his military service, Nick went into the residential construction business with his father. He formed and became president of the DiNapoli Development Company based in Ridgefield, CT. Under his direction, DiNapoli Development built over 300 houses, several multifamily developments, and several commercial developments in the Danbury, Ridgefield and Redding area.  His business remains in operation under the direction of his daughter, Wendy. 
 
Nick was an avid sailor often found on his sailboat “Mi Vida”.  He was a dedicated runner and could be seen running on the roads of the Norwalk beaches every day for over 40 years.  He enjoyed rowing later in his life and was an expert skier until age 84. He completed the New York Marathon three times and completed the Ridgefield Boys Club marathon every year of its tenure. He loved skiing most and spent every winter weekend with his family and friends at Stratton Mountain Vermont.
 
Nick was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He loved life, he loved his family, his friends, and his business partners; most of all he simply loved people and he shared that generously as he was always at the center of social events with tireless enthusiasm and humor bringing much joy and laughter to all around him.
 
A Celebration of Nick DiNapoli’s Life will be held at the Gallo Restaurant in Ridgefield, CT from 12 Noon to 4 PM on Sunday the 3rd of December, 2017.  Donations in Nick’s memory may be made to Al’s Angels Charity at alsangels.org
