Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival comes to Bethel!

The Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival is pleased to announce its second annual Best of the Fest New England Tour. In keeping with the Festival’s promise to its winning filmmakers, the Vermont-based MNFF will take its outstanding films on the road to share them with audiences across each of the six New England states.  The upcoming Connecticut stop will be on Wednesday, April 5 at the historic Bethel Cinema in Bethel. The screening is sponsored by the Community Health Center, and is presented in partnership with FilmFest 52 and WPKN.

The entire six-film program will screen at the Bethel Cinema in a series of three double bills (full list of winning films can be found below), offered at 3:30 pm, 6pm and 8:30 pm. MNFF Artistic Director and distinguished Vermont filmmaker Jay Craven will host this event and take questions from the audience.  Individual tickets are available at the door and all-access passes to all three screenings are available at the Bethel Cinema’s website.

The winning films include three features and three shorts – an eclectic mix of documentary and narrative works that have collectively screened at Traverse City Film Festival, Denver Film Festival, NYC Docs, Big Sky Documentary Film Festival and Nantucket Film Festival, among many others.

Whether you're a filmmaker yourself, interested in breaking into the field, or simply love movies, the MNFF invites you to join in the fun. Support emerging filmmakers and enjoy a fantastic afternoon at the movies!

About the Festival: The MNFF is dedicated to fostering emerging filmmakers and their unique voices. The Festival kicks off every August and culminates with the VTeddy Awards recognizing excellence in first or second films. These films go on to screen across the New England area, in the New England Tour. The MNFF has supported films that screened at Sundance, Mill Valley, Tribeca, Hot Docs and more.
