Carter Endorsed by the Independent Party

The Independent Party of Connecticut unanimously voted to support State Rep. Dan Carter in his quest for re-election.

The party is the third-largest in the state. The endorsement means Carter’s name will appear on both the Republican Party line on the ballot as well as on the Independent party line on Election Day, Nov. 4. Connecticut residents not affiliated with either major party make up the largest percentage of voters in the state and need a voice at the State Capitol.

“I believe I have earned the reputation in the legislature as a reasonable voice and an independent thinker, especially as a leader on the General Law committee,” Carter said. “I am honored the Independent Party has recognized my efforts with their endorsement, and I look forward to continuing to serve the residents of the 2nd District.”

“We believe Dan Carter continues to maintain an independent voice in the state legislature and always seeking an inclusive and responsible state government for all citizens,” said John Dietter, state chairman of the Connecticut Independent Party.  “Dan’s record in the legislature reflects our common goals. We enthusiastically endorse Representative Carter in his re-election bid, and look forward to his victory in November.”

Dan has also received endorsements from the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) and the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Connecticut SAFE Trust (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Committee.

The 2nd District includes parts of Bethel, Danbury, Redding, and Newtown.
