Following the Governor’s address Wednesday morning, State Rep. John Shaban (R-135) commented as to how the Legislature should vet the proposal:
“The Governor's budget proposal has some interesting ideas, but some troublesome points as well, including hidden tax increases and more borrowing to pay for yet another proposed increase in spending," said Rep Shaban.
"He has included several ambitious concepts with an emphasis on planning, but offers little on execution or how we will pay for the ideas," Shaban added, "We’re going to take a look at the substance, examine what’s good and what’s bad, and offer some creative and sound solutions. That’s what we’re here for.”
