Elect Eric Witt First Selectman
Eric and I spent an hour last night discussing the wire mill project. I was formerly director of the Georgetown Special Tax District (as well as Redding Treasurer and Finance Board member). I told him what I had learned about the project and what was needed, in my opinion. He impressed me with his understanding of the issues. And I assure you they are complex. Eric has a background which includes corporate reorganizations and we clearly need these talents. Let’s complete this project and Eric is the one who can do it. - Dan Heller
Jim Sanders for Board of Finance
We are fortunate to have Jim Sanders on the slate of candidates for the Board of Finance. What makes Jim and exceptional candidate is not his financial knowledge but his ability to listen. I have known and been friends with Jim since we first moved to town in 1990. What stands out about Jim is how he always asks questions and listens. What makes Redding a special town is the diversity of its residents each with our known frame of reference and concerns. Our Finance Board needs members who listen to the will of our residents and make thoughtful and fiscally sound recommendations.
In my 25 years of knowing Jim, I have no doubt our town will be well served by his contribution and I encourage you to vote for Jim on November 3rd. - Penn Johnson
Witt the Right Choice for First Selectman
Witt Brings the Leadership Change We Need
While Redding is certainly a lovely town, we cannot simply embrace the status quo, as many on this page have espoused. Our tax mil rate and our cost per student are among the highest in Fairfield County, our property values are falling, real estate is not selling, and the Georgetown redevelopment is stagnant. Change is necessary. Eric Witt can develop the solutions we need. Eric has the leadership skills from his education, military service, and business career to bring these solutions to fruition. For these reasons, I urge a vote for Eric Witt as First Selectman in November. -Gary Miyashiro
