National School Bus Safety Week

Today marks the 2014 rendition of National School Bus Safety Week! As the name implies, this week-long awareness campaign will run from October 20-24.

In addition to promoting school bus safety, the heart of the event is the National SBSW Poster Contest where schools create a poster that depicts safety-related themes. Schools take part in both local and state-wide competitions. The posters that best exemplify school bus safety are used to promote safer school transportation.

As per the official National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) website, "The Poster Contest and National School Bus Safety Week are two different events. The 2014 Poster theme becomes the 2015 National School Bus Safety Week theme." The winning poster for 2013, and therefore the official poster for this year's National School Bus Safety Week theme, is "At my Stop, you Stop!"
