CT lawmakers come out with new child car safety law that changes the game

Connecticut lawmakers recently announced a new child car safety law, keeping children under the age of 2 in rear-facing seats, and children under the age of 8 in booster seats.

This law has been applauded by AAA with Fran Mayko, AAA Northeast Public Affairs Specialist, saying, "The new provisions bring Connecticut in line with the latest research and best thinking from the leading child safety advocates both locally and nationwide.”

Connecticut is the 8th state to make the rear-facing seat law, and the 35th state to make the booster seat law.

This new law will go into effect on October 1st, and AAA will be encouraging other states to follow in our footsteps.
