Ridgefield Guild of Artists is pleased to present its 15th Annual Juried Member Show opening Saturday, May 3, with a reception and awards presentation from 4-6pm. “It is free and all are welcome to come see what our members are working on,” said Mary Pat Devine, President of the Guild. “Our juror selected a beautiful representation of our talented members.”
Of the 357 pieces submitted by our members in a variety of media, juror Amy Kurtz Lansing, Curator at the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme, Connecticut, selected 78 pieces by 77 artists to be part of this year’s exhibition.
About the presentation of works before her, Lansing had this to say: “Congratulations, artists, for your impressive contributions to this year’s exhibition! The quality of submissions was strong, as is fitting for Ridgefield as a town with a long artistic legacy. The number of works that spoke to me exceeded the awards that could be bestowed. As a juror, my preference is to include works by more artists…striving to include the largest number of artists whose work merit presentation and to balance the representation of various media.”
