Welcome to another "P-06877-etry” feature where Ridgefield’s Poet Laureate, Ira Joe Fisher, shares his poetic prowess with HamletHub readers!
Still
Now grey. May is now grey
behind the leaves now green.
There is no hint of wind –
the air is now still.
The oven bird isn’t teaching today –
the oven bird is still.
There is no sound
save a hills-away train
and then, still; the whistle is now still.
