This summer, Muse Squad is excited to announce a new series of creative writing summer camps inspired by the music and legacy of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, an iconic supergroup featuring David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash, and later Neil Young. Deeply influential figures in the folk and rock scenes of the 1970s and 80s, these artists not only shaped a generation with their music but also with their powerful storytelling. Through these camps, young writers will explore the rich narratives, themes of change, and emotional depth that defined this groundbreaking time in music history.
Muse Squad's Ridgefield Chapter will host two week-long camps at the Ridgefield Parks & Recreation Center (195 Danbury Road, Ridgefield, CT 06877), co-instructed by Ms. Brittney Richardson and Ms. Brianna Bencosme Bidó. “Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young Part 1” (for ages 8-12) will run Monday through Friday, July 7-11, from 4:30-6:30 PM. “Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young Part 2” (for teens ages 13+) will follow later in the month, from July 21-25 at the same time. Each camp includes five two-hour sessions that will blend creative writing exercises with lessons drawn from the spirit of collaboration, authenticity, and innovation that CSNY embodied. It's a perfect opportunity for young creatives to connect with timeless musical inspiration while developing their own voices.
