Ridgefield Academy's Class of 2025 Concludes Secondary School Selection Process

Ridgefield Academy is proud to announce that the Class of 2025 has successfully completed the secondary school placement process. As graduation approaches on June 11, all 27 eighth-grade students are preparing to take the next step in their academic journeys, each heading to a secondary school that reflects their individual strengths, goals, and character.

This milestone marks the culmination of a thoughtful, student-centered process guided by Ridgefield Academy’s comprehensive Secondary School Placement Program. From the early stages of research to final decision-making, students and families receive individualized support every step of the way from Head of School Tom Main and Head of Upper School Clinton Howarth. This support includes identifying best-fit schools, reviewing test-taking strategies for the Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT), preparing applications, and practicing interviews. Students also attend Ridgefield Academy’s annual Secondary School Admissions Fair, an event open to students beginning in Grade 7, that brings more than 50 secondary schools to campus to meet prospective students. Ridgefield Academy’s program emphasizes not just placement, but preparation: helping students reflect on their growth, discover their strengths, and present their authentic selves throughout the admissions process.
