Wooster School Theatre Wins 3 HALO Awards!

Wooster School participated in the 22nd Annual HALO Awards for Connecticut High School theatre which recognized and celebrated student achievements in all aspects of theatre: acting, technical theatre, directing, and more. Wooster School was recognized with 16 nominations for its productions of Sometimes the Rain, Sometimes the Sea and Urinetown, and won 3 awards in the ceremony held in late May. This year the cast of Urinetown performed “It’s a Privilege to Pee” during the awards ceremony. Damercy Artau ‘27 was recognized as an outstanding member of the Urinetown chorus and participated in the Legacy Robe Parade.

  • Marley Dixon ‘25 as Bessie in Sometimes the Rain, Sometimes the Sea

Best Up-And-Coming Actor

  • Andy Marvin ‘28 for Dolan/Hans in Sometimes the Rain, Sometimes the Sea

Best Standout Performance In A Female Role In An Ensemble Production

  • Amelie Simard ‘26 as Rain Cloud in Sometimes the Rain, Sometimes the Sea

The HALOS is the biggest High School Theatre Award Program in Connecticut, honoring student participation in all areas of high school theatre throughout the state.

The HALOS recognizes the contributions of students, and ONLY students, to their high school theatre programs. It is also the only program to recognize ALL aspects of theatre: not just musicals but plays, technical theatre, design and more.
